Take 10 Mentorship Ride
Meet: 9:00AM

**You must pre-register with Joanne before going on this ride via mentor@sandiegohog.com**

In order to help all riders feel comfortable in a group riding environment, San Diego HOG is offering a Mentorship Program. This program is designed to help you feel confident and comfortable riding your motorcycle in a group environment.

We will meet at the Kearny Villa Rd Harley dealership at 9AM and spend about 45 minutes discussing hand signals, protocol, and road positions to group riding so that all riders are on the same page and know what to expect. This ride, because it can be for newer riders, avoids all freeways, but does take riders through town, through various speed limits ranging from 10-65 mph, navigating some hills and inclines with stops and lights. We'll also ride some back roads through Del Mar and 4-S Ranch with some mild twisties where we'll ride in staggered and single file formation. We'll depart about 9:45, make a stop for refreshments or a quick bite, where we can debrief and answer any questions riders may have. Then, we'll ride back to the dealership and arrive around noon.

Pink and Proud: 7th Annual Michelle's Place Ride, Sponsored by San Diego Harley Davidson
Meet: 9:00AM

We've been doing this ride for a few years now, and it's touching every time to know that there are resources like this out there for those affected by breast cancer. Each of us likely know someone who has fought this battle. Come learn how Michelle's Place helps those affected, after a fun ride through the twisties, up to Temecula! Let's bring the PINK!!!

Jerry's Event Text:
Its time for our 7th annual Michelle's Place Ride. The date is March 11th. A special thanks to San Diego Harley Davidson who is once again sponsoring this ride. Jen Miller is also putting together raffle prizes for the day of the ride. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase in the morning of the ride. We are asking for a $20 donation (Not Mandatory), and what you get is: a Breast Cancer Ride Pin (Different from past years), also, we will have pizza and drinks for everyone at the end of the ride. This ride will end at Michelle's Place which is a Breast Cancer Resource Center in Temecula and they will be opening their doors just for us so you will get a tour and see where your donations go. This place has helped thousands of woman with great Service Programs.

The three core focus areas of Michelle's Place: Detection, Support, and Education, to provide guidance on the types of services offered at Michelle's place, their intention is to focus and offer services based on the needs in the community. Responding to those needs has resulted in the development of a service program that aligns with each of our core focus areas. While some of these programs are focused to address specific gaps and needs within the community, it does not mean that our services are not available if you do not qualify.

I would like to thank Nathan and Mike for taking the lead and who will be guiding us through San Diego to Temecula. A special thanks also goes to Roxanne and Diane for being involved in this as well. If you're not going to go on the ride, but would still like to donate, please let one of us know. Checks can be made out directly to Michelle's place.

This is a local Ride like none other. I guarantee that you’ll ride on some of these roads for the first time. Then I take you past the Navy’s Brass Model Range on Point Loma before we drop into Mitch’s Seafood for the best sea food tacos you’ll ever eat.

Thursday, September 20th to 23rd, 2018 Meet Location Route Map
LONG DISTANCE RIDE: Sequoia National Park
Meet: 8:00AM

***DATE CHANGE FOR THIS RIDE***

Have you ever wondered what is on the other side of those big mountains when we travel up the 395 through Lone Pine on our Death Valley trips? Well come join me to find out. www.visitsequoia.com/National-Park

On this four day Long Distance Ride we will be leaving on September 20th and returning September 23rd, 2018

We will be staying at the Best Western in Porterville (1-559-781-7411) or Click here for the Best Western Website near the park. We have a total of 20 rooms reserved but they need confirmations by December 1. Room rates are: $99.00 for a single and $99.00 for a double. When making reservations use the code SDHOG.

Day 1 - Travel to Porterville 15N to 395N to 14N to 178NW to 155 to 65 into Porterville on this route we will pass Lake Isabella which should be absolutely beautiful that time of year.

Day 2 - We enter the park and visit the west side of the park. Lots of awesome twisty roads and huge trees. We will see the General Grant, a Sequoia, and lots of other really big Redwoods then onto the General Sherman. The General Sherman is a 2,100 year old giant Sequoia that is 275 feet tall, and weighs in at 2.7 million pounds with a trunk diameter of 100 feet. If you have never seen these before, and even if you have, you will no doubt be in awe.

Day 3 - We visit the east side of the park, Kings Canyon. Again, there are a lot of twisty roads. We're talking a lot of twisty roads. I mean so twisty you might be begging for a straight stretch. We will pass over and around the river that flows through the park and have lunch at the lodge. Day three is a good riding day to run some roads you might not have done, or if you have, you will love doing again.

Day 4 - Homeward bound.

The trip is for riders who can do the long distance and twisty roads. I'm not joking about the twisty part.
