Yuma Baby DayCare
Meet: 9:00AM

Please don't think that all the fun is happening out at Yuma Baby (part 2) because this is where the party really is going down. This ride is offering back county road favorites like Highland Valley and Del Dios Highway, with a coastal excursion from Del Mar through La Jolla and Mission Beach to Vacation Village. Once there, we'll sample great food and enjoy a uniquely picturesque bar and grill in a vacation atmosphere. This is one of those hidden gems that most San Diegans are unaware exists this close to home.

Kevin's Coastal Excursion
Meet: 9:00AM

People come from all around the world to visit our city! One of the world's premier destination spots! Living here, it's easy to forget how good we really have it. Come join me on Sunday Nov. 5th for this inner city coastal ride. Having lived here all my life, I know my way around pretty well, and will take you on some beautiful roads that are a little less traveled in the city, featuring all those views that the tourists come for. Obviously, not all of it may be new to you. Even though it is an inner city ride, or around town, depending on one's point of view, we will not have a lot of stop and go. I did my best to keep it fresh and take all that out. We will end up in Chula Vista, at a great Taco shop called 'The Broadway Diner'(all of the real good food is in the hood). So don't blow it! Come join me for a fun filled somewhat shorter than the normal 3.5 hour ride!

Sunday, December 3rd Menu Meet Location Route Map
Camp Pendleton Expedition
Meet: 9:00AM

This is a restricted access ride. Route transits a military base. Non-military HOG members are required to RSVP NLT NOV 1st with Name (Last, First, Middle Initial), Name Suffix, Driver's License, Expiration Date, Date of Birth (MM/DD/YYYY)… Email Chuck:

Even if you think you might want to go on this ride please RSVP… it is easy to cross your name off the list of participants, but impossible to add your name to the list.

***For those with Base Access already: get your name on the list anyway. It may save us some confusion at the gate. But please let me know that you have access already with your DoD ID Number. This will make it easier for Security to grant our Base Access Request given that we’ll have multiple escorts in our group.

I’ve been saving this ride for the cooler months, because it keeps us out of the higher elevations. This is going to be a special kind of ride, one that we have never done before. We blast up Interstate 5 to San Onofre, enter Camp Pendleton. I’d like to take you down to the MWR San Onofre Campground for a bird’s eye vantage of the World Famous Trestles surf break. You’ll also be able to see Middles, Churches, The Point and a little bit of Old Man’s. Then we will wind our way through the lesser traveled roads of the interior… passing many of the practice ranges, the School of Infantry, and the Marine Air Field. This will be a slow cruise due to the restrictive speed limits for troop safety, but still, so fun. We may run into a little traffic in the form of transiting tanks and armored transports as Marine Reservists will most likely be doing their obligated drills. We will exit the Base at Oceanside and do a loop out 76 past Pala to get some real wind across your face, stopping for a quick “Bread Buy” stop at Dudley’s Bakery before heading to our final destination at the Hamburger Factory.

Thursday, September 20th to 23rd, 2018 Meet Location Route Map
LONG DISTANCE RIDE: Sequoia National Park
Meet: 8:00AM

Have you ever wondered what is on the other side of those big mountains when we travel up the 395 through Lone Pine on our Death Valley trips? Well come join me to find out.

On this four day Long Distance Ride we will be leaving on April 5th and returning April 8th, 2018

We will be staying at the Best Western in Porterville (1-559-781-7411) or Click here for the Best Western Website near the park. We have a total of 20 rooms reserved but they need confirmations by December 1. Room rates are: $99.00 for a single and $99.00 for a double. When making reservations use the code SDHOG.

Day 1 - Travel to Porterville 15N to 395N to 14N to 178NW to 155 to 65 into Porterville on this route we will pass Lake Isabella which should be absolutely beautiful that time of year.

Day 2 - We enter the park and visit the west side of the park. Lots of awesome twisty roads and huge trees. We will see the General Grant, a Sequoia, and lots of other really big Redwoods then onto the General Sherman. The General Sherman is a 2,100 year old giant Sequoia that is 275 feet tall, and weighs in at 2.7 million pounds with a trunk diameter of 100 feet. If you have never seen these before, and even if you have, you will no doubt be in awe.

Day 3 - We visit the east side of the park, Kings Canyon. Again, there are a lot of twisty roads. We're talking a lot of twisty roads. I mean so twisty you might be begging for a straight stretch. We will pass over and around the river that flows through the park and have lunch at the lodge. Day three is a good riding day to run some roads you might not have done, or if you have, you will love doing again.

Day 4 - Homeward bound.

The trip is for riders who can do the long distance and twisty roads. I'm not joking about the twisty part.
