May 09, 2019 8:00 - May 12, 2019 6:46
Meet: Please join us for our Route 66 Grand Canyon Adventure Meet 5555 Kearny Villa Rd. Thursday May 9th at 8:00am for our ride brief with Kickstands Up 8:30am for a progressive ride to the Grand Canyon. A Four day trip with the return Sunday 12th.
Our first night will be in Kingman AZ. On the way out we will take backroads to Palm Springs to get in our twisty fix and cut the morning commute traffic, then we will break for gas & food in Palm Springs, then a run out the 10 to AZ. When we cross into AZ we will take the 95 through Parker and Lake Havasu then onward to Kingman. In Kingman there is an awesome steak house the Dambar Steakhouse www.dambarsteakhouse.com You're not obligated to eat with us, but you're blowing it if you don’t.
Day two we will head out route 66 and have a nice stop over in Seligman, AZ for lunch, the town Seligaman literally stopped in time when the Interstate went through. From Seligaman we head to Williams, another fun lost in time town with plenty to do and see. In Williams I recommend the Red Raven Restaurant https://www.redravenrestaurant.com/ for dinner again, not a must but……..
Day three we head for the Grand Canyon from the east side entrance after passing through Flagstaff. Once in the canyon, we will meander to the west entrance/exit then a straight shot back to Williams. If you didn’t try the Red Raven the first night, then you will get one last shot at it before we head home.
Day four will be headed home and on the way home I figure just a freeway blast to get us home quicker. So the 40 to the 15.
Plan on a mix of weather conditions of: really hot to pretty darn cool. Usually no rain that time of year but one can ever tell so……. You make the call on rain gear.
I have done this trip and route many times and it’s a favorite. I know all the places to stop for gas food and sites so I’m not making it up as I go.

Even though this is a year out you need to make your reservations as soon as possible because these dates are extremely popular as they correspond to annual graduation ceremonies and this is ideal timing for weather in this area before the heat of the season starts. You can make your reservations now and cancel without penalty as long as you do so 48 hrs prior. Also if you book as soon as possible you have an excellent chance of getting a first floor room.
